Layout & Description of the Mansion

In addition to the enviable views – the house makes its own architectural statement.

The Italian Renaissance inspired style gives the mansion a unique and recognisable exterior, as reference in several architectural design books. The interior spaces include airy high cross-vaulted ceilings, hardwood and white marble floors,  classic white thick stone walls with carved niches holding artwork, red volcanic stone trimmed doorways and dramatic architectural lines.

The two floor mansion with c.272 sq. m. is comprised of 4 bedrooms and 4 marble bathrooms, the sea facing terrace on the top floor running the full width of the house, the sea facing pebbled courtyard on the lower level, direct entry doorways on each floor, the modern kitchen, combined living-dining room, a dry sauna, the sea-view rooftop terrace and a linen closet – laundry room.

The accommodation layout is 3 luxury suites: 2 individual king bedrooms on the terraced top floor, each with 1 full bathroom;  1 large ground floor courtyard suite with 2 bedrooms (main room plus loft room)  for 2-5 people with 1 full bathroom. An additional full bathroom with oversized shower is on the top floor for visitors. Additionally, 1 small loft bedroom with WC is located over the kitchen area as a staff room.  The AA class hotel license permits a maximum of 5 bedrooms for 11 guests (5 guests in the courtyard suite which is classified with 3 bedrooms  and 3 guests each in the 2 top floor suites).

The spacious ground floor living-dinning room has a courtyard entry and is connected directly to the separate, full granite gourmet kitchen. The fitted linen closet – laundry room is reached via the unique cave-style kitchen. White marble floors have been added alongside the wood floors. Internal stairs connect from the ground floor to the dry sauna and to the top floor, and onwards to the rooftop.

The top floor has a sitting room that connects to the entrance hallway with one bedroom suite on either side of the hallway. The hallway entrance and the windows of each bedroom open to the terrace with spectacular views to the sea, volcano, caldera and the rest of the island.

The rooftop has wide views and a sunbathing terrace, outdoor jacuzzi and shower.

Layout & Description of the Cave House

Traditionally built into the stone cliff in the early 1800′s, this house has served as a private residence and as the most charming Oia kafenion. It is fondly known by the locals.

The white stone house faces to the sea, caldera and volcano with a courtyard entrance doorway to the village path. It has a small covered terrace with views to the sea and caldera as well as a small rooftop terrace with views.  During the renovations of 2005-6, the architectural features were added to by the use of natural stone floors, high quality wood floors, green and cream marble, white stone pebbles and marble tile-work. Natural light is brought into the interiors with creative techniques.

This special cave house now has a flexible layout of 2 large rooms, 2 marble bathrooms, 1 spa room with a sunken oversized marble bath, kitchen with courtyard entrance, study/dining room with courtyard entrance, walk-in closet, upper reading room, laundry and a storage room.  Furnishings and fixtures are negotiable.

Positioned between the mansion and a private Greek Orthodox chapel, it has a quiet location and is reachable with only a few stairs from the central village path.

The cave house can be easily separated from the mansion to be a totally independent house for rental or private residence. Each house has it’s own utility connections, village services and title to permit the future individual use or sale as two properties.
